There is also a beach called Doni\u00f1os, which is very popular with surfers. The whole seashore from Mugardos to Cari\u00f1o has a special protection status as a Site of Community Importance (LIC:<em> Lugar de Importancia Comunitaria<\/em>) and as a Special Protection Area For Birds (ZEPA: <em>Zona de Especial Protecci\u00f3n para las Aves<\/em>). Nearby in addition to the beach at Frouxeira we can also find the beaches of San Xurxo, Pant\u00edn, Pedrouzo, Doni\u00f1os, Campelo and Vilarrube.
